WFAS is looking for a full- or part-time animal caretaker to start early April. Candidates must have own transportation and live within 60 miles of the sanctuary. HOUSING IS NOT PROVIDED.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Daily cleaning of large animal and small animal shelter housing barns.
- Daily feeding and general animal care
- Animal health care including giving instructed medications, physical therapies & medical record charting
Qualifications:
- Reliable and dependable
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Able to perform physical labor and lifting
- People skills with ability to speak to groups or individuals on tours
- Previous farm or work experience at animal care facility helpful
- Farm equipment knowledge & ability to drive tractors helpful
- Factory farming and animal rights issues knowledge helpful
- Veganism knowledge required (and lifestyle adherence while on the premises)
Job Specifications:
- Full-time or part time position
- Weekends and holiday hours may be required
- Over-time and working beyond an 8 hr shift may be required
- Salary range $15-$20K based on experience, qualifications and hours. Taxes will be deducted, and the pay period is twice a month.
- No benefits package offered at this time (except the benefit of getting to hang with all these great animals!)
