GREAT NEWS! Four animal-friendly proposals in the Ideas for Change in America competition made it to the final round! If these ideas make it to the final ten, they will be presented to the Obama administration at a press conference at the National Press Club the following day. Then, a national campaign will be launched to ensure that each idea gets full consideration by the new administration and 111th Congress... BUT HURRY, VOTING ENDS ON JANUARY 15TH! So please vote -- these are important issues that need public attention!
To vote, click on each of the links below. When at each idea, click on the reddish-brownish box that has a number in it that is to the left of each title. Note: you can vote for up to ten, not just one.

Wrapper's Delight
Sheryl Brook and her posse of gift wrappers: Dani, Kate & Ryan
This amazing group took it upon themselves to work as holiday gift wrappers for a day at a local Border's bookstore to raise money for WFAS, and by the looks of it they had a lot of fun! Thanks to their efforts, Sheryl and her posse of gift wrappers -- Dani, Kate & Ryan -- raised $525 for us by wrapping gifts while promoting our work for animals.
We LOVE these guys and thank them for planning this fundraising event on their own and for the time and energy they spent coordinating this endeavor--including making their own WFAS promotional props to have on site at Borders. Nice!

INCREDIBLE people who do INCREDIBLE THINGS for WFAS
THIS MONTH: STEVIE JONES
Through rain, sleet, snow and traffic, Stevie Jones is truly a hard-core volunteer! Every Sunday, no matter the weather, our sweet Stevie jumps on a bus down in NYC and heads up to the farm for a day of barn-cleaning and critter loving.
 |
| Stevie takes the bus up every Sunday |
She even packs up special treats for some of her close animal buddies and makes homemade dog cookies for our canine pals! She is such a giver in so many ways--her time, energy, passion, funds, friendship... and baking talents!
THANK YOU STEVIE!! |
