INCREDIBLE people who do INCREDIBLE THINGS for WFAS
School's out and for our summer newsletter we're featuring two young adults who've been super-helpful to the farm in different ways: Melissa Magaliff and Cody Baldwin >> READ MORE <<

With over 100 animals in our care, the feed, hay, bedding, equipment and caretaker staff all have real costs associated with them. This little-ol’-sanctuary-with-a-big-heart’s operating budget has grown to roughly $120,000 a year.
And how do we do it? CARING & CONCERNED PEOPLE LIKE YOU! We rely on each and every one of you to make our important work possible. Given our proximity to New York City, and residing in a town known for peace and activism, we're uniquely positioned to expose a large number of people to the plight of today’s farm animals -- and the environmental damage that modern-day agriculture brings. And it's working -- a flow of letters and emails report of hearts and minds which have been forever changed by visits to WFAS.
All of this is a long-winded way of saying, "C’mon, why not DONATE NOW?"
If you're feeling the pinch and can't afford much, how about a small monthly donation instead? Go to the movies every few weeks? For the same amount you can sign up for a 10 dollar or 20 dollar a month donation.

We are looking for a full or part-time animal caretaker to start immediately. Job responsibilities include hands-on animal love & care, feeding, daily barn cleaning and misc farm maintenance needs (light carpentry experience a plus but not essential) and conducting farm tours. Applicants must live within 1 hour of the farm and have their own transportation. Flexible schedule, $9/hr. Compassion towards animals a must! Contact us for more info.

MAJOR REVISIONS NEEDED IN THE 2007 FARM BILL
An important bill which affects you
The concerns of animal advocates and environmentalists have been brought to light in explicit detail as part of a white paper urging major revisions to the 2007 Farm Bill.
Co-published by Farm Sanctuary, the nation's leading farm animal protection organization, and Brighter Green, an environmental policy "think tank" focusing on equity, sustainability and rights, the white paper provides a comprehensive set of proposals for the federal government and Congress concerning industrial agriculture and food production. It tackles provisions in the Farm Bill that violate the Constitution, put communities at risk, and turn a blind eye to ethical, economic and environmental realities.
